Man charged with attempted murder, torture in child’s stabbing

OSCEOLA COUNTY, MI – An 18-year-old is facing charges of assault with intent to murder, torture and child abuse for allegedly stabbing a 3-year-old girl.
Isaac Wilkinson was arrested shortly after the stabbing Monday, April 19, at a home in the 400 block of South Pine Street in Evart.
He was supposed to be babysitting the child and her 2-year-old sibling when the stabbing occurred, Osceola County Prosecutor Anthony Badovinac said.
The injured child was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, sheriff’s deputies said.
Wilkinson is charged with two counts of first-degree child abuse, torture, assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to commit great-bodily harm and assault with a dangerous weapon, Badovinac said.
