Started in 2015 as a United Nations resolution, the day celebrates equal access for females in science and covers the issues many girls face, including gender stereotypes and education.
The worldwide population splits in half between men and women, but according to the United Nations, less than 30% of researchers worldwide are women and only 30% of female students select STEM-related fields in higher education.
On Guam, two speakers will host a webinar discussion, in tandem with the global celebrations working to address women in science.
