Monday 22 February 2021 There was definitely a right place and right time place to be in San Francisco on Sunday morning, as passers by on Franklin Street witnessed the unbelievable moment that a 139-year-old Victorian house was loaded onto a flatbed truck to be moved seven blocks away. It has a lovely, traditional facade and boasts 5,000 square foot in size, which is a large piece of property to manoeuvre. It took the owners years to prepare for the move. Though it was only being moved seven streets away to Fulton Street, it had to turn some pretty narrow corners and be accompanied by an extensive team of engineers to cut down branches on the tree-lined route. The reason for the spectacular move? The plot of land on which the historic house sat is being turned into an eight-storey ....
