Palermo library reopens, adds new board member Share The Palermo Community Library, 2789 Route 3, reopened May 17. It also recently added its newest board member, Anne Kurek. Although the doors were shuttered during the pandemic, the trustees made additions to the library’s services. The old patron computers have been replaced with new Dell computers along with new software including Microsoft Standard 2019, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Elements. High-speed Internet is coming to the library, and three new mystery series have been added to the catalog. Library hours are 10 a.m. to noon Monday, 3-6 p.m. Tuesday, 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, 3-6 p.m. Thursday, and 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. ....
Palermo library to hold drive-up chili fundraiser April 17 A Movie Night basket, to benefit the library, will be raffled. Share Photo by Pam Swift PALERMO The Palermo Community Library is sponsoring a drive-up chili fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at the library at 2789 Route 3. The meal costs $7, with a choice of a 12-ounce container of homemade chili (spicy, mild, or meatless). Orders are accepted by phone by calling Diane Bent at 207-993-2040, Anne Kurek at 207-314-5930, or Sharon Nichols at 207-993-6088. An additional 12 ounce servings of chili can be purchased for $5 each. Orders will be delivered curbside to people’s cars. ....
