Enchantment shifts to unease as their journey turns inward, becoming an emotional reflection on the influence of Xavier’s ex-boyfriend. A dread-soaked dénouement is purposefully ill-fitting, suggesting that resolution in life is rare and comes only “piece by piece.” ....
