SEA Games prep next for Filipino fencers

Fresh from a stint in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament, the national fencing team is veering its focus on the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Vietnam as plans are being finalized from the selection process of the squad to the training camp that will be held here and abroad.
Coach Rolando “Amat” Canlas Jr. of the national fencing team said there is already a program for SEA Games, which includes the tryout for aspiring members of the Philippine Team this July in Ormoc City. ....

PFA sets Nat'l Open to select SEA Games athletes – Manila Bulletin

In hopes of surpassing its performance in the last Southeast Asian Games here, the Philippine Fencing Association has created the blueprint for the national team’s bid in the 31st SEA Games in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Amat Canlas, the head coach of the national team, said the PFA has approved the selection process through a tournament, which will be conducted in a bubble setup for the PFA National Open Fencing Championships on July 3 to 11 at the Superdome in Ormoc City. ....
