Feb 2, 2021 Frank P. “Firdy” Fernandez Jr., age 92, of Gloversville, passed away January 30, 2021, one day prior to his 93rd birthday. He was born in Gloversville, on January 31, 1928, son of Frank Sr. and Bertha (Catanzaro) Fernandez. He was a 1946 graduate of Gloversville High School, where he enjoyed being the manager of the basketball team. Thereafter Frank married the love of his life, Anna DeSantis on June 18, 1950. They raised three children together. He worked in the leather industry and then became the Superintendent of the monitoring stations for the Gloversville-Johnstown Joint Wastewater Treatment Facility in Johnstown until his retirement in 1993. After retirement, Frank and Anna enjoyed spending their winters in Florida where he enjoyed fishing and soaking up the sun. He enjoyed spending time with his family and he had a great passion for watching the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. He loved to dance and sing and was the highlight of every p ....
