Maryland's New Covid Restrictions Target Holiday Gatherings

With the holidays approaching, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan has announced new efforts to combat the spread of Covid.
The state’s health department issued an advisory Thursday urging residents to limit holiday gatherings to no more than ten people, down from 25.
In addition, Hogan issued an emergency order banning non-essential travel in Maryland and establishing new requirements for those who do cross the state’s borders. Under the terms of the order, anyone traveling to Maryland from another state must self-quarantine for ten days or get a negative Covid test. (This requirement does not apply if traveling from DC, Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or West Virginia.) ....

Can you talk about how you have seen the police what their tactics have been? reporter: well immediately in front of us we see a very heavily armored vehicle from ann arundel county. they re bringing in resources from other areas trying to help out the baltimore police. but i can tell you, from the protests the angry but peaceful protests for several days here the police were basically taking a standoff approach. and that was what may have been another gunshot, unlike in new york when the protesters marched for nine and ten miles, the police marched right alongside them keeping them safe out in front of the protesters with changed, they blocked traffic and the presence the entire time the protesters were out. in baltimore, police only put themselves behind barricades and never put themselves directly in the line with protesters. that s how much worse the ....
