Mainers take a knee for photo project aimed at combatting racism
Before touring cities around the state, the photos will be projected Friday among buildings in Portland s Monument Square.

Those are some of the themes artist Titi de Baccarat had in mind when he organized The Kneeling Art Photography project. He enlisted 10 Maine photographers to create portraits of dozens of Mainers taking a knee. The project explores the meaning and evolution of the gesture through the images and words, especially in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd and the conviction of his killer. ....

VTIFF and Vermont PBS launch Made Here Film Festival | Vermont Business Magazine

Vermont Business Magazine The Vermont International Film Festival [VTIFF] is launching the inaugural Made Here Film Festival, the only film festival dedicated exclusively to films and filmmakers from the Northern New England states of Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts; Northern New York; and their neighbors in Québec. The Festival is a partnership with Vermont PBS.
“We are very pleased to continue our support of regional filmmakers in the hope that by introducing them and their films to each other, new partnerships may emerge,” said VTIFF Executive Director Orly Yadin. “MHFF is a natural progression from what used to be the Vermont Filmmakers’ Showcase, which in 2019 expanded to become the Made Here Showcase. We are also looking forward to representing the films at the in-person Vermont International Film Festival in the Fall of this year.” ....
