VISIT - Bavaria s minister-president,
Markus Söder, will visit Romania on Monday. The German official will meet
president Klaus Iohannis and Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă, the German Embassy
reports. Markus Söder will also hold talks with representatives of the German
minority in Romania and the Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce. On the
sidelines of his meeting with Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă, the two officials
will sign a joint statement aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation to such
fields as national security, IT, justice, cyber security, science and research,
economy, language, education and social.

Refugees. Romania's President Klaus Iohannis visited on Saturday the mobile refugee camp in Siret, Suceava county (northeast). The total capacity of the camps in the county is 1,977 and there are still 1,400 free places. Some 9,455 Ukrainian citizens have crossed the border with Romania in the last 24 hours. Also on Saturday, PM Nicolae Ciuca announced that some 10 million Euro were spent from the state budget to help the refugees. He also said that, next week, the Romanian Government will send to Brussels all the documents needed to have this spending reimbursed from European funds.

Refugees. The head of the Romanian state, Klaus Iohannis, is visiting today the mobile refugee camp in Siret, Suceava county (northeast), the Presidential Administration has announced. More than 170,000 Ukrainian refugees have crossed the border into Romania since the beginning of the Russian invasion. Of these, about 60,000 have remained in Romania. President Iohannis talked with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, during her visit to Bucharest, about increasing the support to Ukraine. He pointed out that efforts were being made to render operational, as soon as possible, on the Romanian territory, a humanitarian hub that will allow the collection and transport of international donations for Ukraine.
