Lt. Col. Andrew Mettler – an F/A-18 Hornet pilot based at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort who died in a crash during a training flight near MCAS Miramar, Calif., on Aug. 24 – was remembered as a hard worker who cared about people and his fellow Marines and possessed a “warrior’s spirit.”
The memorial service for Lt. Col. Andrew Mettler took place at the Marine Corps Air Station in Beaufort, South Carolina, where he was stationed, the press release says.
