Minister of State Malcolm Noonan has described the fires in Killarney National Park over the weekend as devastating and said there must be consequences for people if they set such fires deliberately.
The outbreak has already burned through almost 2,000 hectares and further attempts are being made this morning to extinguish the last remaining fire at Killarney National Park.
Speaking on RTÉ s Morning Ireland, Mr Noonan said the number of wildlife rangers will be increased to 50, which he said is badly needed, and will be an important additional resource. ....
