Padding through the Saharan sand, pleasantly fatigued by the sea air, I gazed right to the outline of Morocco as a group of swimmers raced for the water. The stresses of the pandemic had slipped away. This was my first time in Gibraltar, but somehow it felt familiar.
I’d arrived that morning, on day one of the resumption of foreign holidays.
