A jury on Friday found Salt Lake police officer Nickolas Pearce not guilty of aggravated assault after ordering a police dog to attack a Black man who was being arrested.
The trial began on Tuesday for an officer charged with aggravated assault for his controversial use of a K-9 in a 2020 arrest in Salt Lake City. The man who was being arrested testified about his experience.
