'Lucky No One Got Hurt': Fan Runs Onto Track During Race In New Zealand - Horse Racing News

A brazen fan ran onto the middle of the turf course in front of a full field of horses charging toward the finish of a race on Wellington Cup Day at Trentham race course in New Zealand on Saturday.
Amazingly, and thanks to skillful corrective action by many of the jockeys riding the race, the man was left untouched as the horses raced past him, after which he thrust his arms into the air, apparently in celebration.
He was quickly arrested and charged with an act of endangering public safety. No indication was given what prompted the man to risk his life and those of the horses and riders in the race, ....

'Horrific scenes' as a punter RUNS in front of charging horses on a busy race day

A punter has narrowly escaped serious injury after he foolishly stood in the middle of a track during a horse race in New Zealand.
Racegoers who packed into Trentham Racecourse for the Wellington Cup on Saturday afternoon were in disbelief as the man entered the course just moments before the field of horses charged towards the winning post.
The jockeys miraculously managed to dodge the man, who was dressed in a white button up and black pants.
Moments after walking away unscathed, the man raised his arms into the air, in an apparent attempt to celebrate his survival.
The track invader (circled above in red) left many punters speechless after his antics on Saturday ....

Jockey Brad Rawiller is set for a lengthy stint on the sidelines after suffering a fall at Bunbury on Wednesday.
Brad Rawiller who relocated to Perth last year will be out of the saddle for an unknown period of time after suffering a broken collarbone and a punctured lung in a fall at Bunday on Wednesday afternoon.
Rawiller was aboard Imprudent in the second race on the card when the horse fell at about 200m from the winning post which resulted in the former Victorian jockey having to be rushed to hospital for observation. ....
