Officials in Houston, Texas, recently confirmed the city's first heat-related death of the year as sweltering extreme heat continues to plague a large part of the South. Victor Ramos, 67, of southwest Houston, was rushed to the hospital after he was found unresponsive in his home, which was not air-conditioned, according to the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
