The Indian Meteorological Department has issued red alert for coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam regions as the landfall process of cyclone Michaung has begun. According to the agency, landfall process would complete in next three hours.
Andhra Pradesh Floods : Six Districts On High Alert: Due to Godavari floods nearly 100 villages are merged in the flood water in Andhra Pradesh. The villagers vacated their homes and shifted to safer places on Thursday night. Four-feet-deep water flooded the villages. Kunavaram mandal, Tekulabor and Vaddigudem contacts were completely lost.
Hundreds of villages, mainly the lankas (island villages), along the course of Godavari are reeling under one of the worst floods as the swollen river has been discharging 19.05 lakh cusecs of water as on Friday morning.
