Woodstock 50 wins damages, settles lawsuit over failed Upstate NY festival

Woodstock 50 organizers have won damages in a lawsuit against an ex-investor over the Upstate New York music festival that never happened.
Billboard reports an arbitration panel ruled 3 months ago that Dentsu, a Japanese conglomerate that was the event’s primary investor, breached its contract when it pulled out in April 2019. Dentsu has since agreed to pay an undisclosed settlement sum covering damages, but not unrealized profits, from the Woodstock 50th anniversary festival that was originally scheduled for Aug. 16-18, 2019 at Watkins Glen.
Woodstock co-founder Michael Lang and other Woodstock 50 organizers sued last year, seeking “tens of millions of dollars in compensatory and punitive damages.”
