Every year since 2009, Ammanford has hosted one of the annual highlights of the Fairtrade Fortnight celebrations - a banana split stretching 100 feet along the length of the town s Victorian Arcade.
Crowds of people have squeezed into the arcade in all kinds of weather over the years, ranging from pouring rain and gales to beautiful evening sunshine.
But as the event marks its 13th year the event has been postponed due to Covid.
Organisers, Ammanford Fair Trade Town Group, have promised that the event will be back, bigger and better than ever, whenever it is safe to do so, but in the meantime they hope everyone will enjoy their own Fairtrade Banana Split in the safety of their own home with their own Fairtrade banana-bubble. ....
