More than $1.8 billion in federal funds is coming to New York to help childcare providers and parents meet workforce needs amid the pandemic.
At the Amityville-based Marks of Excellence Child Care on Wednesday, U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer said that the funds from the American Rescue Plan are coming to Long Island and would provide critical relief for families as the economy and workplaces reopen.
“Since the start of this pandemic, day care and child care center advocates on Long Island have been sounding the alarm that these places are critical to our reopening and need help to survive,” Schumer said in a statement. ....
