Now one resident told us around 1 00 this morning he heard an ear piercing sound which he thought was from the batteries dying. However he later found out it was the fire alarm system for the entire building. Fire Officials Say they were told the fire started on the second floor but once on scene they saw this spread quickly from the second to the third floor. By that time people from several units left their apartments and headed for safety. Other people were seeing the same thing. Everybodys apartment the fire alarms in our building went off at the same time. So we were just down there for 208 minutes until we realized there was a fire and it wasnt just a false alarm. What we have is fire that got into a mechanical chaseway. Running between the first and third floors. At this point we have six units potentially involved. Some form of smoke or water damage.
