Joint Louisiana Insurance Committees to Hear About Hurricane Claims, Pandemic

The insurance committees of the Louisiana Senate and House of Representatives will hear about the impact of multiple 2020 hurricanes and the COVID-19 pandemic on insurance rates in a joint meeting on Dec. 16.
Presenters include representatives from the Louisiana Department of Insurance, the Louisiana Association of Health Insurance Underwriters, the American Policyholder Association, the Independent Insurance Agents of Louisiana and the American Property and Casualty Insurance Association.
The LDI will release hurricane claim and company complaint statistics for the first time at the hearing, which will take place at the Louisiana State Capitol at 10 a.m. in Hearing Room 4. ....
