Reprisal. i want to put it in perspective for people. if you were caught performing your music in iran, what might happen? well, if you are really unlucky and you get caught by the religious police, you will be in a lot of trouble. they would take you to jail, get lashed, break your instruments. but sometimes you can bribe the police and can get away with things. we were careful. we threw a lot of shows in the underground and had lookouts. we had people on the corner of the streets that would let us know if the police are coming. and people would ask me in the states, do you get nervous when you perform? everything is legal over here. your beer and your venues, but over there i used to play with one eye on the door so when the cops raid the place i would run out the other door. but that intensity and adrenalin it adds to the show. i miss that feeling. it is so different from american bands where all the chaos is inside the band. your worry is nothing outside. it is the fact that ....
