Without the Carmelite Prisoners’ Interest Organization, “I would still be suffering in the prison because I had no money to hire the services of a lawyer,” Chisom Eze said. “I had thought my life would end in prison until Capio saved me.”

Awka, Dec. 2, 2020 Carmelite Prisoners’ Interest Organisation (CAPIO), a non-governmental organisation, has called for the speedy review of the Anambra Administration of Criminal Justice Law, 2010.
The Executive Director of CAPIO, Rev. Fr. Ambrose Ekeroku, made the call on Wednesday, while donating COVID-19 preventive materials to the Nigeria Correctional Service, Awka.
Ekeroku said a quick review of the law would help to eliminate the delays often experienced in the dispensation of justice in the state.
He also underscored the need to create adequate public awareness on the content of the law after the review.
Naija247news reports that the donation included handheld infrared thermometers, 20 gallons of liquid soaps and hand sanitisers.
