The World Maritime University (WMU)- Sasakawa Global Ocean Institute will co-host the worldwide Conference on Oceans Law & Policy: Peaceful Maritime Engagement in East Asia and the Pacific Region that will take place virtually from May
10 – 12, 2021.

Vanuatu chairs IMO Technical Cooperation Committee's 70th session | News

Vanuatu Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), Laurent Parente, recently chaired the 70th session of the IMO Technical Cooperation Committee (TCC).
IMO Member States of this specialised United Nations Agency had elected him by secret ballot during the 69th session, a procedure rarely used by the United Nations unless there is more than one candidate which was the case.
The one-week meeting was held virtually from the 7th to the 11th of December with up to 280 registered Delegates.
The IMO Technical Cooperation Committee oversees IMOâs capacity-building programme and the implementation of technical cooperation projects for which the IMO acts as the executing or cooperating agency, ensuring that IMO supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. ....
