Glasgow rockers Mogawi announce hometown date for this year A GLASGOW rock band have announced a hometown show date for later this year. Mogawi will be visiting Glasgow Royal Concert hall on November 7 as part of their 10th studio album As The Love Continues. The album is the band s first number one in the UK Official Albums Chart and number nine on the Billboard s US Top Album Sales Chart - which their first time inside the US Top 40. Mogwai’s Stuart Braithwaite, said: “We’re unbelievably happy to have the number one album in the UK. We want to thank everyone at Rock Action Records - both of you - and mostly to thank everyone who has bought, downloaded and streamed the album, and supported us over the last week and the last 25 years. Mogwai Announce Autumn Hometown Show At Glasgow Royal Concert Hall Tuesday, 02 March 2021 Mogwai will play a hometown show this autumn. The Scottish post-rock quartet, who released As The Love Continues on February 19, have confirmed a performance at Glasgow s Royal Concert Hall on November 7. A limited pre-sale for fans who purchased tickets for the band s previously cancelled concert at the Glasgow Hydro Arena begins at 10am on March 4, with general sale following at 10am on March 5. The Scottish rock group have been facing off with Ghetts for this week’s top spot, with the British rapper taking to the streets of central London in an armoured tank hoping to blast his third album Conflict Of Interest to the summit. Mogwai finish the week 2,900 chart sales ahead of Ghetts, resulting in a landmark moment for the band, claiming their first Number 1 some 25 years after the release of their debut single. Released independently through the band’s own label Rock Action, As The Love Continues is also this week’s best-seller on vinyl and the top seller in UK independent record shops.
