+ A daylight robbery at Amanful, a suburb of Takoradi has left residents mesmerized about the “Hollywood” kind of drama staged in the process. Residents say, the robbers trailed the couple from a bank where they had gone to withdraw a colossal amount of money. The couple, suspecting danger, parked their private vehicle at East Amanful only to be bounced on by their attackers. The armed men shot the thighs of their victims, took the bag containing the money, and rode off on their motorbikes in the full glare of the public. The victims have since been rushed to the hospital for attention.

The man, believed to be in his 50s, was shot by the armed robbers who subsequently bolted with an undisclosed amount of money. The deceased was in the company of his wife when the incident occurred. According to a citinewsroom report, the Administrator of the Takoradi Hospital, Reverend Osei Owusu, confirmed the death of the man on Tuesday. Takoradi Robbery: Police on manhunt for gunmen

+ The police in the Western Region have begun the search for gun men who allegedly shot and killed a man after robbing him of his money at Amanful in Takoradi. Speaking in an interview with Joy News’ Ina-Thalia Quansah, The Western Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), DSP Olivia Ewurabena Adiku assured the public of the police’s readiness to make the suspects face the law when arrested. “We are putting all measures in place to ensure that we get the culprits and also to provide security for them,” she said. DSP Olivia also appealed to eye witnesses to provide the police with necessary information on the incident to enable the police get the culprits arrested for interrogation.
