The wedding industry took a big hit when the pandemic struck India. Weddings became smaller and fewer, and the never-ending ceremonies and long guest lists got trimmed. Small, intimate celebrations and virtual weddings found takers. Just when Covid cases seemed to have come down earlier this year and the wedding industry was starting to feel optimistic, the country is witnessing another surge in cases and fresh restrictions by the authorities. So how are couples and wedding planners adapting to the new challenges?

Till Monday many soon-to-be-wed couples were excitedly giving final touches to the day they would take their marriage vows but hit by the latest COVID-19 woe, the re-imposition of night curfew in the capital, they found themselves discussing arrangements from scratch yet again wedding date, venue and the most important, timing . NEW DELHI: People in Delhi wondered whether the move to impose night curfew would be effective in checking the spread of the coronavirus cases, which are shooting up over the past few days.
They argued that there was a need for better implementation of guidelines and heftier fine against violators during the day instead of imposing a night curfew when most of the population is already indoors .
