Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) has announced which roads will be first to be resurfaced in 2021. The authority is aiming to have resurfaced, patched or treated 222 miles or road by the end of the 2020/21 financial year. Cllr Vernon Smith, cabinet member for highways, said: “Keeping our work on schedule during the pandemic has been challenging and I want to thank each and every one of our highways service staff for going above and beyond to keep Gloucestershire’s roads moving. They have worked extremely hard to catch up and exceeded our works programme, delivering the £150 million investment into your highways, and bringing a smoother ride for cyclists too. ....
