who spear headed the effort to get the covid vaccine without parental consent. let s start with our headlines. new information about those cases of a new covid variant detected here in california. yesterday we broke the news that two cases of the omicron sub variant called ba2 were found in santa clara county. late today, the state said there are now a total of 14 cases across the state, but the state is not saying where those new cases have popped up. infectious disease experts say this sub variant may be more transmissible than the original omicron strain, but it does not appear to be more of a threat. the vaccines will still work against it because it s really almost the same virus. all 14 cases were detected using genomic sequences. while stanford clinical virology lab did not find these cases, it is actively looking for other case. that s important because it s nearly impossible to detect without a deeper dive. we have an update on unauthorized covid testing sites
