JAMSHEDPUR: On the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, Muslim clerics, seminary heads and community leaders issued a set of dos and don’ts for festival enthusiasts.
Appealing to the minority community to follow Covid-appropriate behaviour, the clerics said that there shouldn’t be any public demonstration of the celebrations.
“Special prayers on Eid should be offered at home like they were offered on Alvida Jumma (last Friday),” the chief of Imarat-e-Shariah, Saud Alam Kasmi, said.
The cleric of Jugsalai mosque, Kazi Mustak Ahmed, said citizens should not visit the house of relatives and friends to exchange festival greetings and they should also not invite anyone to home to join the feast on Eid. ....

Prayagraj: Muslims on Friday offered ‘Alvida Namaz’ at their homes. Alvida Jumma is the last Friday of the holy month of Ramzan.
As Covid cases surges across the state, Muslim clerics and scholars had appealed to people to offer ‘namaz’ for ‘Alvida Jumma’ from their homes. The clerics had also appealed to follow Covid-19 safety protocol during the Alvida namaz.
Old city resident and social activist Haseeb Ahmad told TOI that “In view of rising Covid cases and lockdown across the city, people of the Muslim community in Nakhas Kohna, Khuldabad, Chowk, Ghantaghar, Shahganj, Akbarpur, Rasoolpur, Kareli, Gaus Nagar, Rajapur, Noorullah road, Atala, Mandsaur Park, Baidan Tola, and Dariayabad localities offered Alvida namaz at their homes. ....

LUCKNOW: The Islamic Centre of India in Lucknow has issued an appeal asking Muslims to offer namaaz for Alvida Jumma (last Friday of Ramzan) in their homes.
Islamic Centre chairman and prominent Sunni cleric of Lucknow Idgah, Maulana Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahali, said it was important to follow COVID-19 safety protocols for the Alvida Jumma.
