What is love? On the brink of Valentine s Day, Louisvillians tell us what they think

Canaan Christian Church pastor Walter Malone, 65, sits in the pews of his church sanctuary. Malone discusses four types of love as described in the Greek language: eros (erotic or sexual love), phileo (brotherly love), or storge (affectionate love between family), and agape (sacrificial love). “(Jesus) asks for us to love one another authentically,” Malone said. “So, at a much deeper level, maybe we don’t need to ask people ‘Will you be my Valentine?’ Maybe we need to make the declaration: ‘I’m choosing to love you in the spirit of Jesus Christ.’” Feb. 2, 2021 ....
