Alto Mayo and Tarapoto, located in Peru s rainforest region of San Martin, have become safe destinations for tourists after receiving from Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Claudia Cornejo the Safe Travels Stamp awarded by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC). The issuance of this stamp certifies that both Alto Mayo and Tarapoto comply with the health measures and protocols to prevent COVID-19. The distinction, which is recognized around the world, was received by San Martin Region Governor Pedro Bogarin during a ceremony attended by entrepreneurs from the tourism industry.
