Ongoing assaults against Nigerian oil production, general political instability, economic mismanagement, and the threat of Islamist radicalism necessitate that the U.S. work with Nigeria to addressthese problems. This should be done by encouraging Nigeria toimprove its economy, secure its oil, combat corruption, and enforcethe rule of law.
