Tando Allahyar city of the Sindh province has been gripped with tension after the murder of a Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) activist and ensuing protests and violence. MQM-P activist Khalil-ur-Rehman alias Bholo was shot dead outside the District and Sessions Court Tando Allahyar on Friday. The murder sparked violence in the city and five workers of MQM-P were arrested for allegedly forcing the local markets to shut down. On Saturday, a number of women protested against the arrests, blocking the Hyderabad-Mirpur Khas road. The police used baton-charge to disperse the protesting women. The action sparked more protests and tensions flared in the city. Tando Allahy.
Police claim resolving STPP leader Jiskani’s murder

SUKKUR: Tando Allahayar Police have claimed to have resolved the high profile murder of Vice President Sindh Tarraqi Pasand Party Altaf Jiskani, who was gunned down in an ambush in November 2020. SSP Tando Allahyar Rukhsar Ahmed Khuhawar confirmed that the police had arrested following an encounter, a most wanted criminal, Aslam Rind, and his brother in law Ali Ahmed Khatyan, who were already nominated in Altaf Jiskani’s murder. The police also recovered two Kalasnikov assault rifles and bullets from their possession.
Terming the murder of the STPP leader a planned action, SSP Khuhawar said the police traced the killers in a hideout in Sultanabad where they had returned to from Balochistan. One of the suspects, Bholo Rind, was already in police custody.
