Microsoft co-founder and former chief executive officer Bill Gates met Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to India and discussed a host of issues ranging from artificial intelligence to the country s digital public infrastructure.
The Alliance aims to bring together global good practices, knowledge sharing and investments in the field of women’s health, education, and enterprise and aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) including SDG 3 - Good Health and Well-Being; 4- Quality Education; 5 - Gender Equality and Empowerment; 17 - Global Partnership for Development and more, said a release by CII.
The Alliance for Global Good – Gender Equity and Equality – is supported by the Gates Foundation, and anchored by the CII Centre for Women Leadership, with the World Economic Forum as a network partner and Invest India as an institutional partner.

This year s interim budget, presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, takes place in a turbulent global economic environment. Despite this, the budget maintains a balance between economic growth and fiscal consolidation, with a fiscal deficit of 5.1% of GDP. The budget also supports capital expenditure and rural infrastructure, promotes investment in post-harvest infrastructure, and establishes a corpus for interest-free loans to support research and innovation.
