Allen East’s Musselman inspired by mother’s cancer battle Musselman HARROD Caitlyn Musselman, an 18-year-old senior at Allen East High School, is hoping to become a radiation therapist after graduating college. “They’re the ones that distribute the radiation to cancer patients,” Musselman said. “They go in and get them all set up and then actually distribute it into their bodies.” Her motivation was her mother’s ordeal with ovarian cancer. “It’s just something I’ve wanted to do since I watched my mom go through it,” she said. “She didn’t actually receive radiation. She just had chemo and a few surgeries. But I did a lot of research on the different jobs that are in the oncology department. And then I went in and job-shadowed a radiation therapist and it seemed like a good job.” ....
Youth profile: Allen East’s Jackson has eyes to the sky Jackson HARROD Mackenzie Jackson, a 17-year-old senior at Allen East High School, has her sights set pretty high after high school is over. She wants to pursue a degree in aviation technology at Bowling Green State University. “I’ve always loved airplanes and flying. I got the opportunity last year to fly a plane, and then I fell in love with flying even more than what I’ve already loved it,” Jackson said. She already knows what she wants to do after she gets her college degree. “I plan on starting out in commercial at an airline somewhere. After I build up my experience, I plan on going into corporate (aviation),” Jackson said. ....
Allen East FFA students win interview contest HARROD Hunter Sidle, a junior from Allen East High School, and Devan Foster, a freshman from Allen East High School, both won the state job interview contest in FFA. Both had to create their own resume, cover letter, reference sheet and follow-up letter for a fictitious job in the agricultural industry.
