Vizianagaram (Andhra Pradesh) [India], May 6 (ANI): A woman died in an elephantattack on Thursday in Andhra Pradesh s Pata Kallikota village of Vizianagaram district.
According to Komarada sub-inspector Gnana Prasad, the victim has been identified as Allada Appamma. This morning Allada Appamma, age 50 years old, went to her agricultural field to fetch vegetables when an elephant hit her around 5:30 am. When the elephant stumped, Appamma died on the spot. Her body is shifted to Parvatipuram area hospital, said Prasad.
Police and forest officials went to the spot immediately, while forest department officials are trying to trace out the elephant.

A woman was killed by wild elephants moving between Andhra Pradesh-Odisha border at Patakallikota village of Komarada mandal of Vizianagaram district in early hours of Thursday.
Allada Appamma, 40, went to the nearby fields to collect vegetables when the jumbos chased and killed her. With multiple injuries she died on the spot.
The CPI(M) had demanded that the government announce compensation immediately to her family.
