Assam: Police detain 12 over Doomdooma lynching | Guwahati News

Representative image DIBRUGARH: Tinsukia police have detained 12 persons in connection with the lynching of a 34-year-old man in Korjonga village in Doomdooma on Saturday morning. The deceased, identified as Sarat Moran, was lynched by a mob after he and another person was found moving in a suspicious manner in the village at around 4.15am. According to police, there had been a few instances of animal theft in the area in the past one week and upon discovering the two unknown persons moving suspiciously, the villagers raised an alarm and chased them. While one of them managed to flee, the locals caught hold of the other and assaulted him. Cops from the Baghjan police station later shifted him to the FRU hospital in Doomdooma where he succumbed to his injuries.
