Coronavirus: Two thirds of new Covid patients in Scotland are now under-65

Patients under 65 have made up the majority of Covid hospital admissions in Scotland since the beginning of March
TWO-thirds of patients being admitted to hospital with Covid in Scotland are now under 65, as vaccinations continue to curb illness and death in older people.
Figures obtained by The Herald show that younger patients, aged 44 and under, also accounted for more than half of admissions to intensive care by the start of this month.
Previously, the average age of a Covid ICU patient was 60.
It is understood that under-65s have made up the majority of overall hospital admissions for the disease since the beginning of March. ....

A mother-of-two claims she suffered a blood clot in her lungs after having the first dose of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine - and doctors have told her not to take the second jab.
Beckie Wilson, 35, from Stoke-on-Trent, had her first dose on March 11 but says she quickly began to experience a shortness of breath.
She went to see her GP and was initially put on a course of antibiotics, but when this didn t work she was referred for blood tests and a CT scan.
And on Wednesday last week, Beckie says she received a phone call from the Royal Stoke University Hospital asking her to go to in immediately, where she says medics told her a blood clot was discovered in her lungs. ....
