Gunmen, on Thursday, shot and killed two persons in Chikaji village in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
It was gathered that the gunmen invaded the residence of one Alhaji Yunusa Gambo in a bid to abduct him alongside one Mallam Surajo.
But when they attempted to escape being kidnapped, the gunmen shot and killed the two men.
The state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan, who confirmed the incident, said security operatives had launched an investigation into the attack.
He stated, “The Kaduna State Government received reports of a double homicide following an attempted kidnap at Chikaji village, Igabi LGA.

The Kaduna State Government has confirmed the killings of two men by kidnappers after a failed attempt to kidnap them
This was disclosed on Thursday in a statement by the Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, Mr. Samuel Aruwan.
“The Kaduna State Government received reports of a double homicide following an attempted kidnap at Chikaji village, Igabi local government area.
“Armed bandits invaded the residence of one Alhaji Yunusa Gambo, a farmer in the village, and attempted to kidnap him, along with one Mallam Surajo. The duo attempted to flee but was shot by the armed bandits.”

The lawyer was arrested on Wednesday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC spokesman, in a statement on Thursday, said the suspect allegedly eloped with funds awarded by Rivers State High Court.
Robert is accused of collecting the money on behalf of his client, Igwe Ugochukwu, and “converted to personal use”.
He allegedly received the judgment fund in three tranches – N10,000,000, N737,187, and N4,975,000.
EFCC alerted that the alleged accomplice, Obinna Friday Egwom, is still at large.
“The suspect would be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded”, the commission added.

At least two people have been killed again by bandits at Chikaji village in Igabi local government area of Kaduna state.
The latest incident comes less than 24 hours after three people, including a hunter, were killed in the same local government area.
