Oyo Police Arrest Kidnappers of LG Boss, Nine Others

By Kemi Olaitan The Oyo State Police Command has arrested some members of criminal gangs involved in killings, kidnappings, and other atrocities in the Ibarapa area of the state. The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mrs. Ngozi Onadeko, led other top police officers to parade the suspects and others arrested by men of the command in Ibadan on Wednesday. The CP said, “On January 2, 2021, at about 1955hrs, some members of a notorious kidnapping syndicate who have been terrorising members of the public in the Ibarapa axis of Oyo State invaded Subawah Filling Station located along Idere Road, Igboora, with sophisticated firearms such as AK-49 rifles, cutlasses, and other dangerous weapons. In the course of the attack, the kidnapper shot indiscriminately in different directions, and in the process, two young girls who were later identified as Bababtunde Omowumi and Toriola Kudirat were hit by stray bullets and died on the spot.

Police arrest 41 over kidnapping, murder, robbery

By Fri Feb 12 2021 The Oyo State Police Command has paraded 26 suspected kidnappers who have been terrorising Ibadan and Ibarapa areas of the state. Some of those paraded are alleged to have murdered their victims after collecting ransom from their families. Also paraded were 13 suspected armed robbers; a 72-year-old pastor of Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Jimoh Odunayo, who allegedly defiled a 13-year-old girl; and a 56-year-old lawyer, Remi-Oladiti, who also defiled a 14-year-old girl. The state’s Commissioner of Police (CP), Ngozi Onadeko, who paraded the suspects on Wednesday, said some of them participated in the kidnapping and murders of Oluwole Agboola in Akinyele Local Government Area; and a local government Chairman, Hon Adeleke Jacob Olayiwola.

Oyo Police Parade 11 Suspected Kidnappers, Killers Of Ibarapa Businesswoman, Adisa Sherifat, Others

She was a member of Independent Petroleum Marketers (IPMAN) in the Idere area of Ibarapa. Those who were arrested comprising Fulani men and two Yoruba men are Abubakar Idris, Shuibu Idi, Usman Saliu, Rabiu Usman, Umar Usman, Tiamiyu Isah, Rasak Ramon, Jare Mohammed, Umaru Amadu, Kabiru Adamu and Mohammed Abdullahi. Two of the suspects – Tiamiyu Isah and Rasak Ramon – were private security guards who were absent from work on the day their employer, Adisa, was killed. The two aged security guards claimed their absence from work on the same day was a coincidence. They denied any knowledge of the abduction and killing of their boss.
