IBSA Goalball postpones European Championships Group B event
International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) Goalball announced the postponement of the 2021 European Championships Group B event.
Competition had been scheduled to take place at Lahti in Finland next month.
Teams were due to compete from January 28 to 31.
The IBSA says it consulted with the local Organising Committee following feedback from the teams, with several citing concerns over travel restrictions and the worsening coronavirus situation in Europe.
We have been contacted by some countries who say they are experiencing travel restrictions that are in place through January 2021 or they anticipate travel restrictions that would mean they are unable to compete, said Alexey Baryaev, the competition technical delegate. ....
