Freeman's Gilded Age auction: Russian tankard given to Philly philanthropist during 1892 famine up for auction

A hand-crafted tankard being auctioned off by Freeman's on Feb. 24 was given by Russian Czar Alexander III to Alexander Biddle as a thank you gift for the philanthropic aid he provided Russia during the famine of 1891 and 1892. The silver mug is covered in brightly-colored enamel pieces. ....
