As more and more people get the COVID-19 vaccine, San Francisco health officials said Friday a decline in the demand for testing will result in the closure of some city-operated testing sites.
According to the city s Department of Public Health and COVID Command Center, the city will close the high-volume testing site CityTestSF Embarcadero Testing at Pier30/32 on Tuesday, as well as some alternative testing locations.
The scaling back of testing comes as 80 percent of San Franciscans have received at least one dose of the vaccine. In addition, hospitalizations linked to COVID-19 are at the lowest point since the pandemic began, health officials said.
