FORDINGBRIDGE Town Council says it can see “no justification” for any expansion in Alderholt and more housing would impact on existing highways problems.
The council has responded to Dorset Council’s draft Local Plan for 2021 to 2038, setting out its vision for future development.
Two options for Alderholt are being put forward - one for “small-scale expansion” on land north of Ringwood Road with around 300 new homes as well as land for employment facilities while the second is for “significant expansion”.
Fordingbridge Town Council says New Forest District Council (NFDC) Local Plan, which has already been adopted, will see a “considerable increase” in the number of houses in the town and that any increase in houses under either proposal in Alderholt would have “further significant adverse impact” on the roads in the town. ....
