unlike yesterday when we had more thunderstorms. let s get to it. we ll talk temperatures and cooler air moving in from the north and wet. it will be a nice-looking forecast. 74 currently in downtown washington. we are 307 out at dulles. lots of 60s starting to make a reappearance. 64 in frederick. 69 in winchester and 68 out in hagerstown. again, the combination of sunshine, lower humidity and milder temperatures should make for a good-looking friday today as the storminess has moved off to the south and east and we re watching a whole new air mass move on in. there is your satellite-radar. very quiet conditions across the mid-atlantic. off to the north and west is clear as well. it should be a mostly sunny day today. i think just a few passing clouds as we watch high pressure build in here. a good-looking day. here is your forecast and again, highs later today will only top out in the middle 80s. about 86 in washington, 87 in baltimore. 85 in leonardtown. best part, l ....

let s talk temperatures and that is the good news. temperatures have fallen back nicely. the humidity is a lot less than it was yesterday morning as well. 74 at reagan national. we are currently 73 in baltimore. 76 in ocean city. lots of 60s starting to show up off to the north and west. we ll see the temperatures rebound back into the middle 80s. yesterday, we were back in the 90s. there is a look at your morning satellite-radar. the showers and thunderstorms that brought us the problems yesterday afternoon have pushed off to the south and east and we re left with a clearing trend around here. mostly sunny skies today. i think it should be just a fine-looking afternoon with high temperatures as mentioned actually a few degrees below where they should be. sunshine, cooler, less humid. 86degrees. might be the nice of the day of the month, melanie. thank you. time if a look now at this morning s top stories. a metro train stranded under the spring street overpass in s ....

washington. may affect you folks. maybe around laplate a. extreme southern portions of p.g. county in the next hour or two. in the baltimore region, it is quieting down as a dryer air mass moves in the region. tim has a look at the outback with a look at rainfall totals we saw this afternoon. as you mentioned, the rain came through. and we re still tallying some of these areas. as you ve seen, some areas got hit so hard. others, not so much. but what we ve seen so far around the region, one and a third inches of rain in woodlawn. a little less than an inch in tv hill. a little less than half at bwi marshall. columbia, about a half inch. and not as much in frederick. that, incidentally, was the first severe thunderstorm warning that went into effect in the afternoon. but the storms rolled through so quickly. the temperatures got up so nicely. then the rain came in and dropped everything down. we came back up to where we see now. 83 at bwi marshall. hot spot now is in ....
