Families get in the Christmas Spirit

There s fun for all the family when they take part in the Dundalk Christmas Spirit Trail which was launched last week. With the town centre looking better with new street lighting and wonderful Christmas window displays in local shops, there s never been a better time to shop local.
Now, thanks to the Christmas Spirit Trail, all the family can enjoy a walk through town while using their smartphones to follow the story of Albert Claus, the less famous brother of Santa Claus.
There are contactless QR codes in various shop windows from Dublin Street to Church Street which will take walkers on an adventure. Upon scanning a character s unique QR code that character comes to life with an animation on their smartphone. Learn about each character, their name, their stories and really importantly listen to gather clues. ....

North-east town aims to raise a smile with festive trail

A north-east town is using its fishing heritage for a festive trail.
Rediscover Peterhead business improvement district have been working with 30 businesses in the town centre on the project.
Anyone taking part has to find 30 Christmas or fish inspired graphics which have been placed in shop windows.
It includes a whiting choir, a crab laying out its milk and cookies for Santa and two squid sporting winter woolies.
The trail uses QR codes and each graphic can be scanned with people able to find a joke, fact, recipe or enter a competition run by Rediscover Peterhead. ....
