Pender, 42, of Shelbyville. She and Alan J. Logsdon Jr, 48, also of Shelbyville, were charged Jan. 26 after a traffic stop by an Illinois State Police trooper revealed drugs and cash. In the subsequent forfeiture filing, he is referred to as Alan J. Logson. Both had been charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony, while Logsdon was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony. The request noted that the money was found in “close proximity” to illegal drugs, a trained narcotics dog had detected the presence of drugs, both had a history of drug-related arrests and/or convictions, the two had made inconsistent statements, Pender has no visible means of support and admitted selling and/or possessing drugs. ....
Alton woman faces charges of hitting teen hitting with bat Scott Cousins, scousins@thetelegraph.com FacebookTwitterEmail EDWARDSVILLE An Alton woman was charged after striking a 15-year-old youth in the head with a baseball bat. Alexandria N. Phillips, 19, was charged Jan. 26 with aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony. The case was presented by the Alton Police Department. According to court documents, on Jan. 13 Phillips struck a 15-year-old male youth in the head with a baseball bat, causing a laceration that required seven stitches. Bail was set at $40,000. Other recent Madison County charges include: • James R. South, 34, of Bethalto, was charged Jan. 26 with theft under $500 (second subsequent offense), a Class 4 felony. The case was presented by the Alton Police Department. According to court documents, on July 17 South took less than $500 in cash from another person. It was noted that he had a prior conviction for aggravated robbery. Bail ....
