Elex Stewart, a retired Alameda County auto mechanic, passed away on Friday April 28. He was 100 years old. Stewart was born on Sept. 25, 1922, in Port Hudson, La., the second of the nine children his parents, Eddie and Mary Stewart, brought into the world. State Attorney General Rob Bonta filed a brief Friday asking a federal district court judge to strike down a lawsuit challenging the state's law requiring social media companies to prioritize the privacy and safety of data collected from minors.
